on the web, too many colors may disengage audience members… When I select the primary color that will be used for a site, I usually also selects it’s complimentary color for focus. If i use green, purple will be the stand out color. Then I select a text color that will balance the site a bit. Normally a deeper grey achieves this, sometimes for richer text, I’ll use black. If I want bold, I use deep reds, which I know will catch attention.

Flipping kung-fu man, that’s the theme. Customer says to me, “It has to be cute and pink yet strong and forward.” Hello? Then I asked kind of perplexed, “What do you have in mind?” They say something to the extent of, “Hello Kitty fighting Bruce Lee.” Hellooo? Ok, that’s an extreme case of finding a theme. No it’s not. You’ll often hear weird requests. So when you hear, pink, think fun. When you hear Bruce Lee, think who is this weirdo and what would Bruce Lee be doing fighting Hello Kitty? How would Bruce win? Then think strong. Apparently this client thinks they’re cute as a button and yet strong. This persons wants a strong pink theme.

Defend your artwork in Photoshop. Here are some easy ways to get someone to agree with how your work is the best -even if they hate it. Innocence is the best form of retaliation doubled up with an intellectual response aimed directly at the other person’s intelligence. People will usually agree with you if they think that by not agreeing with you they will be considered unintelligent. Heaven forbid that should ever happen.

Quick note. In Photoshop CS2 you can use the keyboard Delete key to delete an entire layer, or select multiple layers using Alt or Shift and delete multiple layers
