Preferences - Another reason to use InDesign - Portable Workspaces

indesign system preferences

Like I’ve mentioned before, InDesign is a pretty robust tool to use for developing print, web and interactive media and here’s another reason why.

Let’s say you’ve set up you’re preferences for the application. You decide to open someone else’s file. Well those preferences come along with the file so you don’t have to worry about adjusting them at all unless it’s an absolute must.

In my case this is another plus because if another designer picks up my file I know they are working using my set up so when I tell them the header should be aligned at X=149p and Y=116pt I can open files and check Master Pages to make sure they are perfect.

This precision is priceless due to the fact that everyone will be working in the same workspace.

Thank you again Adobe.
